This past week we have been up near Mammoth Lakes at a small lake called Rock Creek. It has been really relaxing and fun to just kick back and hang with the Walker clan. It is our first All family vacation. For those who know Hume lake, it is very similar, but a little smaller.

It is absolutely gorgeous up here. The aspen trees are turning gold and the sky is crystal clear blue as well as the lake is gorgeous.

We have had fun walking the lake, fishing, canoeing,shooting, reading, cooking, and playing games.

I caught my first fish with Sean yesterday.. I could have had a total of 5 fish.. but I was a little novice and impatient and reeled a little too fast on the first few and the fish flipped off my hook.

So sad. But i did get one rainbow trout. He was a little guy, but worth keeping since he was my first.

Today we headed to town and the girls got massages and the boys golfed.. It was fabulous. It was one of the best massages I have ever had. It was an Aveda Spa and it was fantastic.

I am now in starbucks trying to update this blog while Laura and Jamie do some work.

Speaking of work... I did not get that job I really wanted and that you were all praying for.. so I have been a little stressed, but know God has to be saving me for something better. Please continue to pray that a job opens up soon. I really need to work!

As for now, here are a few pictures my husband has taken while on this trip.. We will update with more once we come home.

Rio Nexpa- Surf Safari!

This is Sean blogging for the first time in a long time..
For the past year I have been hearing my bestfriend Laren talk about this amazing surf trip he went on while he showed me unbelievable photos. He kept telling me i had to go on the next trip. I finally gave in (which he had to twist my arm extremely hard) and bought our tickets in June. For 3.5 months I was so anxious to surf these amazing waves i had heard so much about. I finally got to see first hand what he was so excited about. We went down to the famous surf spot called Rio Nexpa which is located in Michoacan, Mexico. The travel getting there was a little hectic. we loaded 5 grown men and all of our gear into a tiny toyota pickup to get to LAX, flew a red-eye flight leaving LAX at midnight and arriving Mexico City at 5am, slept in a freezing terminal during our 5 hour layover, barely got to our next flight on time since we didnt realize we had to do our customs/visa paperwork here instead of at our final destination, flew from Mexico City to Zihuatanejo then drove 3.5 hours to get to rio nexpa.
But upon arrival to the sight of perfect waves all excitement was restored and i raced out for an evening session. Michoacan is beautiful. It reminded me so much of Kauai because it is so lush with green jungle and palm trees. The cabanas we stayed at were perfect for the 5 of us especially for only $40 a night. Shower, toilet, fridge, stove, beds, and a hammock. For the next 7 days we surfed our hearts out on some of the most amazing waves i have ever surfed. then we ate a ton of tacos and then surfed some more. The water was a comfortable 80 degrees and there was plenty of sunshine. It was such an incredible trip which i hope will become an annual trip. As Brianne has already posted, as soon as i got home we both headed to Rock Creek to join my family for a week of family vacation. what an amazing few weeks of vacations. Now back to reality and the real world. starting work with Invisible Children (the nonprofit i have worked with the past few offseasons) tomorrow.

Nurse Brianne needs a Job!

Hey loved ones.. 

As many of you know I have been seaching high and low for a job out here in SD.

I received a phonecall today that there may be a position for me at Rady Children's Hospital in their outpatient clinics.. It would be a 5 day, 8 hour work week.. but it would be DAYS.. which would be amazing.. Plus there is a chance I would get to work with my old GI doctors who used to take care of me with my Crohns disease.. I once was a little girl and their patient and now I could be their personal nurse!

Well I need your prayers.. I am waiting to hear back from the person that hires!

Please please pray.. It sounds awesome.. but know God has the best out for me.. Something is bound to work out either way!

Yes i was really bored.. I am jobless.. I take care of Sean's grandmother all day and my husband is living the dream surfing in Mexico..

Party at the HYATT.. WHOO HOO!!

Last night after Bella's Tea party we went to our brother n law's 30th Bday Bash!! It was soo fun. Jamie, Sean's sister, did a fantastic job planning it.. We all were dressed up and hung out poolside down at the Hyatt, Mission Bay..

The Hyatt just redid their pool area and it was so beautiful.. So fun!

We are so blessed to have such fun families.

For Chris's BIG bday present... Jamie bought Chris a Taylor guitar.. He was so surprised.

Bella's BELLE Tea Party!!

Yesterday our lil niece celebrated her fourth bday with all her beautiful princess friends.. My sister did an amazing job setting up the best tea party ive ever seen. She had all the food and treats plus all the decor to go along.. 

She rented a princess tent with all the seat covers and tool.. and she set up all of Gabriella's princess dresses for all the lil girls to wear!

It was the cutest party Ive ever seen!

All the girls were soo funny and loved every moment..

Then... my best friend Cheri, showed up as BElle from Beauty and the beast as a surprise for Gabriella!!

It was absolutely histerical.. they all bought it and were glued by her side and asked the funniest questions..

Bella Boo's 4th Bday Dinner!

After Christian's Bday BBQ we headed north to catch Bella's bday dinner with my fam.
Gabriella has really been fun these days.. She is such a sassy, sweet, girly girl!
